This is a quick painting i had to do. Originally this was one of my old abandoned artworks. I had no idea what to do for the school artwork, so i decided to take the easy way out and finish this one off. Originally, all I had was a background which was really an experiment with oil paints. From there i wanted to turn it into something so I drew buildings because at that time my interest was buildings. I assume it still is a factor to my interests....
My first idea from a while a go was to colour in the buildings with tone, like something very realistic, but as time was short with the school artwork, I decided to change my idea and just do the outlines which creates a meaning, just like in my "City Chat"painting. That meaning being an environmental issue that is meant to evoke social comment. The background now exemplifies a metaphor through the rainbow coloured background. Since this is a city scene, this is the environment that once was happy and healthy, just like a rainbow which represents Happy. But now, thanks to human disruption, buildings live here, and with buildings comes environmental issues such as pollution and power wastage. That is why it is meant to raise social comment although it is not exactly clear through my artwork.
Just a quicky, Enjoy! --- Mixed media: Oil paint and acrylic paint. Time: about 1 hour. (excludes drying time and breaks in painting)
Thanks heaps. Really I finished the artwork and then did the folio work after so i was working backwards. Sort of made up meaning behind it but it works. That's how i see the meaning as anyhow. Im glad you like it.

Of course. Rainbows are attractive, what can i say.
Ah. Ooooo i see what you mean. If you keep your mind open, i can see what you mean. It is like a dead tree. which adds to the whole environment thing or just could relate to autumn when the leaves fall. haha
Thanks for pointing that out. Im glad you like.

Thanks. Yes it is good. Not exactly what i like doing too much because of the fine details and the time consumption. But something like this was simple enough. Not too much. How did you incorporate constructional perspective when at school?

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
I'd like to show you some awesome nature related work from more or less unknown artists which deserve more attention - this is a must see, you won't regret it!!!

also, I like how the street, depending on your view, could either be the roads or a silhouette of a dead tree
